A major Mazel Tov is due to actress Gal Gadot.  The Israeli-born brunette beauty has just been chosen to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie Batman vs. Superman. While the former Miss Israel is no stranger to the silver screen, having been in the Fast and Furious series, Entourage, and more, this catapults her to another level of stardom.

Having spent time with her and her husband, I know her to be a hard-working, dedicated, sincere woman who deserves this success in a major way. She’s proud to be Jewish, having grown up in a traditional home and she served in the Israel Defense Forces.

As she recently told this very paper, her “Jewish identity means family, the holidays, the traditions, and home.”  She is also very active with Israeli companies – she served as the face of clothing brand Castro. She’s also the spokeswoman for Vine Vera, a company that uses the antioxidant Resveratrol in all its skin care products, which Gadot credits for keeping her skin natural.

There’s a long history of Jews and superheroes. “The Avengers” were created by three Jews, and Superman, Batman, Captain America, and others were also all created by Jews.

As the upcoming film’s director, Zack Snyder, said, “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role.”

Having a Jewish Wonder Woman is simply awesome. Gal is a strong woman that young people will respect, and who can make them realize that hard work does indeed pay off. Congrats and Mazel Tov to Gal Gadot and her family.
