Samuel L. Jackson Tweets Selfie at New York Israel Day Parade
Iconic actor Samuel L. Jackson tweeted an artful selfie taken at New York’s Israel Day Parade on Sunday, prompting a flurry of responses.
“Celebrate Israel Parade in NY today,” Jackson captioned the shot, which appears to have been taken on Manhattan’s 5th Avenue near East 57th Street.
In the picture, the actor peers into the camera lens in front of a group of red-shirted schoolboys bearing Israeli, Jewish and American banners.
At the time of publication the picture had been re-tweeted 529 times and marked ‘favorite’ 1,190 times.
“Just when you thought Samuel L. Jackson couldn’t get any more awesome, he takes easily one of the coolest selfies. Ever. At Celebrate Israel Parade in New York, in support of #Israel!” International Human Rights Lawyer Arsen Ostrovsky posted on Facebook in support of the image.
The tweet also prompted a slew of ugly condemnations and anti-Israel accusations.
In a previous encounter with the Jewish community in 2012, Jackson filmed a pro-Obama, expletive ridden, video clip for the Jewish Council for Education and Research.
