A woman working in a cosmetics shop in Rishon LeZion recounted her harrowing brush with death during a terror attack on Monday afternoon to Israel’s Channel 2 shortly after the incident.

Victoria Postrikov was attacked by a 19-year-old Palestinian assailant from the West Bank city of Tulkarm, after he had managed to stab three people, wounding two of them critically.

Postrikov recounted for Channel 2 how the terrorist entered her shop, where he lunged at her with a knife. But “luck” and the “glass counter” behind which she was standing saved her life, she said.

“The terrorist wasn’t tall and I bent down, so he couldn’t reach,” she explained, adding, “Many people came in and started hitting him [with anything they could get their hands on] — a stand from the entrance, umbrellas and sticks. I ran to the back of the store.”

Israel Closes West Bank, Gaza Strip for Rosh Hashanah

The IDF announced on Tuesday that it will put in place a closure of the West Bank and Gaza Strip...

Postrikov continued in Russian-accented Hebrew: “Not a word was exchanged between [me and the terrorist. The whole thing took] a few moments. At one point, I really thought it was the end [of me].”

Postrikov was among the many people affected by Monday afternoon’s attack in the coastal plain city of Rishon LeZion. According to reports from the Israel Police and eyewitness accounts from civilians, once the terrorist was subdued by the people Postrikov described hitting him with all kinds of objects, police officers had to fend off angry mobs outside. Fearing the terrorist would be lynched, they brought him to a different shop across the street, where they holed up with him until managing to get him to a squad car.

Are you suggesting that Israeli government purposely arms Palestinians against Israelis, conspires against its own people and its state, and orchestrates the events? And if this is the case , then what is the purpose?

  • Mickey Oberman

    It is not lynching.

It is well deserved justice by the common people.
It is the victims doling out true, suitable justice.
It is appropriate response to murderous barbarians.
It is a much needed application of justice to those deserving and needing it.

  • Boris Kapilevich

How many victims of Palestinian terror will be sufficient enough
to change government mind and allow people of Israel to have guns to defend their lives?

  • HaDaR

This attack lasted for a VERY LONG TIME and almost ended in tragedy BECAUSE there were NO ARMED CITIZENS TO NEUTRALIZE THE TERRORIST.
Since 1987 BOTH Labor and Likud have been TAKING AWAY weapons from Jews, all while giving tens of thousands of AK 47’s to the PLO since 1993…

      Are you stupid???
Are you not aware that the government of Israel has given them, the PLA machine-guns in order to protect the Jews from the terrorists, pretending that israel police have their hands tight by strict laws, while the imported terrorists from Tunisia feel free.
      Now we see the result??!!
May Hashem protect Israel from our enemies also from these ones.

Are they suggesting that Israeli government arms Palestinians against their own people , conspires against theit own people , and orchestrates the terror of the Jewish State purposely? And if this is the case then what is the purpose?

  • Edna

WHY was he not allowed to be lynched!!! WHY was this murderous terrorist not eliminated once and for all?

Enough is enough!!! The Israeli government is too soft. It needs Stern Gang type of retaliation.

How can you all agree to live like that?

    • Michael Tragesser

All Israelis, certainly Jews, must abide by laws, fair and just, regardless of the enemy’s tactics. There is no excuse for retaliatory attacks on innocent people, Arabs, or for lynching even those guilty, who are subdued in custody. We are not criminals. Never say it again. May your words not come back.
