Anti-Israel activists are seeking to co-opt the left-wing protests that have erupted across the US following Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in last Tuesday’s presidential election to further their cause, a prominent conservative US legal expert said on Monday.

“None of this is solidarity,” Cornell Law School Professor William A. Jacobson wrote on his Legal Insurrection blog. “It’s conquest of other peoples and movements to redirect them to and focus attention on the BDS anti-Israel agenda.”

As highlighted by Jacobson, the New York City branch of Students for Justice in Palestine (NYC-SJP) has been calling on its members to join the anti-Trump demonstrations.

Trump Campaign Mideast Adviser Walid Phares: President Envisions Resolution to Palestinian-Israeli Conflict Through ‘Moderate Arabs’

A terrorism expert and long-time Fox News analyst who served as the new US leader’s Mideast adviser during the election campaign...

In video uploaded to Facebook by NYC-SJP , protesters can be heard chanting, “There is only one solution…intifada revolution,” and “Trump, Obama, you will feel the intifada.”

“Intifada” is an Arabic word meaning “tremor” that is most commonly associated around the world with two violent Palestinian uprisings against Israel.

“How will this end?” Jacobson asked in his blog post. “The way it usually ends in these hijackings — anti-Israel activists damage the movement they supposedly support.”

On Sunday, Fox News contributor Pete Hegseth asserted that the Trump protests were being driven by George Soros-funded groups that want “perpetual anarchy.”

“These are Communists, these are anarchists, they’re antisemitic,” Hegseth said on Fox and Friends. “They’re not pro-American liberals who are frustrated with conservatism. They’re anti-American and they want to foment chaos across our country.”

Trump himself has tweeted twice about the demonstrations. In the first tweet — published on Thursday night — he said, “Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!”

Just a few hours later, the president-elect adopted a more conciliatory tone, tweeting, “Love the fact that small groups of protesters last night have passion for our great country. We will all come together and be proud!”

Actually it is the Arabs who are breaking in to Jewish homes to murder women & children and shooting at Israelis from vehicles. Arabs are intimidating those who do not agree with them even in their own families and still commit honor killings.

  • Normando782

This is not 1948, and the fascists are Fatah , Hamas & the Muslim Brotherhood. You could say the same for the Ayatollah in Iran.

  • Charlie in NY

The article repeats, and thereby softens, the accepted meaning of “intifada.” It means “shaking off” as in an animal shaking its coat to remove impurities or dirt, therefore by extension, “intifada” means “shaking off filth” – the filth in this case being the Jews and their “occupation” of all of Israel.
Once again, the Arabs are clear in their intentions, while the West chooses to bowdlerize their views and make them appear moderate.

  • KTA

Yeah, the Palestinians only get hurt when they attack. You’d think they would learn to stop attacking Israel.

    • Gary Lawrence

Go back into your vacuum. Israel is expanding not the Palestinians.

  • KTA

You do realize that most Jews are still liberal and all of them still support Israel? So, what exactly are you talking about?

  • KTA

They vote for social justice, something Republicans don’t understand.

  • KTA

The Palestinian idiocy is not a left-wing movement.

These twits couldn`t care as to how much Israel has contributed to helping people survive with it`s best responding medical unit to disasters, or to the scientific achievements and technological breakthroughs in medicine, or in agriculture and clean potable water in areas where drought is predominant.

They wear the watches, use the laptops and flash drives, but we should hammer the fact that these contain Israeli technology and they should stop using them. And then see how serious they are about BDS.

amen. obama years are over, will not be missed.

Einstein never said that. People need to know that. Einstein was a Zionist. More garbage copied/pasted from the internet. If the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria want peace, they need to prove it. Reading this poster’s garbage is sickening.

    • Charlie in NY

The quote is correct but by being truncated misleading. Einstein, who supported leftist parties in Israel and personally was a pacifist, was referring exclusively Begin’s Herut Party. He was a longtime opponent of Jabotinsky’s Revisionist Zionism which years before had been tarred with the “brown shirt” charge. That Einstein himself was committed to Zionism and recognized the right of the Jewish People to self-determination in their ancestral homeland is behind question.
An interesting appraisal of the full Einstein quote can be found here:

      truth hurts right?

I’m seventy-seven, and I am too old to spend much time in demonstrations where I am too far away from a handy toilet, but I walked out into the anti-Trump demonstration on Fifth Ave. when I left the Museum of Modern art after a film. There were all sorts of people there from a few old Communists carrying a Russian Communist flag to fairly ordinary young Democrats who were unhappy about the outcome of the election. If anti-Israel mamzerim showed up they would not have been stopped by anyone since no one was in charge of the group.

  • bargouti

You want justice for palestine start with Abbas…. this suit wearing despot and corrupt palestinian is in his 11th year of a 4 year term…Put him in chains and in prison next to marwan bargouti….

    • cpa cpa

      excellent advice.

  • bargouti

Left wing anarchists… Israel haters… palestinian agitators… Trump haters…..Racists…Anti-Semites….And other irrelevant flotsam and jetsam have all joined forces…..

  • Peter Joffe

Now the true colours of these protests are being laid bare. Antisemitism, pro Islamic Terror, BLM, anti America, pro Iran and Saudi Arabia and last but not least, anti democracy. If you cannot win at the polls then tear the country to pieces???. Even Clinton is recommending insurrection as she praises the demonstrations that will not achieve anything and most probably will turn to violence. Is this the end for Democracy in the USA?? It would seem so as the Democrats are sore losers after 7.5 years of destroying an America that was once great.

    • cpa cpa

bye bye Obama years, we won’t miss you.
