JNS.org – Palestinian arsonists burned down a Jewish religious school in the northern West Bank on Monday, during a “Day of Rage” held in support of an ongoing hunger strike by Palestinian terrorists in Israeli prisons.

The arsonists entered the area surrounding Homesh Yeshiva and set the building alight. No injuries were reported. Officials from the school said they expected the IDF to bring the arsonists “to justice” and vowed to build a larger structure at the same site to replace the destroyed building.

Jewish residents of Homesh were evicted and had their homes demolished in 2005 as part of the Israeli government’s unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip as well as four communities in the northern West Bank.

Knesset member Betzalel Smotrich (HaBayit HaYehudi) said, “The burning of the yeshiva in Homesh is a reminder for us to continue working for the return of the Jewish people to all areas that were destroyed during the [2005] expulsion.” He added, “Every place we leave becomes a place of terror and where holy sites are damaged.”
