A young girl got teary-eyed when meeting Israeli actress and “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot at San Diego’s Comic-Con this past weekend in an encounter that the fan’s mother described as a memorable moment.

Footage posted by Variety on social media and YouTube showed Gadot comforting a young fan named Ashley who, dressed as “Wonder Woman,” began to cry when meeting the actress. In the video, Gadot reaches across the table, takes the girl’s hand and tells her, “But now we’re friends so there’s no reason to cry anymore, right? Here we are together.”

“Where’s the smile? Let’s see the smile,” Gadot told Ashley before her “Justice League” co-star Ezra Miller, who plays the Flash in the upcoming film, chimed in and told the young fan, “You’re a warrior. I think the ability to let yourself cry is what makes you such a warrior. Come join the Justice League whenever you get ready.”

Ashley’s mother Christine Keller, who is an author, wrote on Twitter that her daughter “was so happy to meet [Gadot] that she was tearing up. Gal was so sweet to her.” She added on Facebook that Ashley would never forget meeting Gadot. Keller said, “These characters matter and can have a huge influence on young people. What a great role model and genuine, nice person. My daughter will always remember this moment for the rest of her life. Thank you, Gal Gadot!”

It was also announced at Comic-Con on Sunday that there will be a “Wonder Woman” sequel starring Gadot in the title role.
