Jewish Population on Campus
With some 4,000 Jewish undergrads and a vibrant Hillel and Chabad, there are numerous ways to be Jewishly involved at Indiana University. Hillel events include everything from “Gin and Jews” hangouts to Israelpalooza, a yearly bash celebrating Israel’s culture. There are over a dozen different Jewish clubs run through Hillel, as well as weekly Reform and Conservative services, and occasional Orthodox services. There is also a Chabad located right on campus, which offers a number of programs, from traditional Shabbat services and Friday night dinners to challah baking, one-on-one learning, and grants for purchasing Tefillin. While IU does have an SJP chapter, anti-Zionist sentiment at the school runs low. (Photo credit: Wikipedia.)
