Dan Pincus and Lena Altman and Friends: Dan (2nd from left) and Lena (right), gathered with friends at The Park in Manhattan's meat-packing district to celebrate AJC young leadership of Manhattan.
On a hot summer night in New York, American Jewish Committee’s ACCESS honored Lena Altman and Daniel Pincus at The Park. ACCESS is the AJC’s “new generation” of Jewish activists working within AJC, the NY Jewish community, and the larger diplomatic and political world.
Daniel Pincus, who has become the “face” of the Jewish community to many in the young Muslim community and Lena Altman, Director of ACCESS NY and the Goldman Fellowship, were the evening’s the honorees. The two represent the young leadership of a new generation of Jewish activists. Working with the AJC, they are striving to enhance the connection between the New York Jewish community and the larger diplomatic and political world.
Altman is a specialist in German-Jewish relations. Her work has improved the ability of ACCESS NY leaders to engage with counterparts from all over the world. She will be joining AJC’s Berlin team in late August. Pincus has been involved in AJC’s Israel work, human rights advocacy at the Durban Review Conference (Durban II), outreach to Jews around the world and was co-chair of ACCESS NY for two years.
