A caption posted by the Huffington Post accompanying an image of a dead child, posted below, falsely claims that over half of the victims of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas were children.  The caption also refers to Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense as an “Israeli aggression,” a term usually reserved for use by terror organizations and governments that oppose the Jewish state’s efforts to half Gaza rocket fire aimed at Israel.

Anonymous blogger Huff-Watch notes that although HuffPost credits the photo to Mosa’ab Elshamy, the post itself appears to have been published by Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, a Huffington Post Live presenter. Shihad-Eldin is no newcomer to pushing anti-Israel material. Nor is the Huffington Post for that matter. They only recently published a cartoon, by an artist who often compares the Israeli Defense Forces to Nazis and manipulated an Associated Press story so as to remove a comment made by Hamas that applauds attacks on Israeli civilians.

The Huff Post credit for the posting of the article. Photo: Huffington Post
