Little Focus From Obama on Foreign Policy in Inaugural Speech
Times of Israel – President Barack Obama was sworn in to a second term before a crowd of 800,000 in Washington on Monday, far fewer than the 1.8 million who attended the first inauguration in 2009, but still the second-largest event ever held at the capital’s National Mall.
The centerpiece of the event was not the swearing-in, but rather the president’s inaugural speech. The legally required oath of office had already been taken on Sunday, as mandated by the Constitution.
