Despite the strike by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the complete itinerary of the first trip of Pope Francis to the Holy Land has been prepared and the trip is moving forward, sources close to the Vatican told The Algemeiner on Thursday.

Contrary to reports, the ongoing Foreign Ministry strike may end in the coming weeks, and, even if it were to continue, the work stoppage would not impact the Papal visit, sources said.  Other measures have been taken by various arms of the Israeli government and relevant non-profits to enable the trip to proceed, the sources said. They added that to meet the Pope’s expectations for the trip, a meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres, a personal friend, was a must-have, meaning that the trip would have to move forward before Peres retires this year.

Based on the details of the trip revealed on Thursday, Pope Francis will fly from Rome to Jordan, take a helicopter to Bethlehem then on to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. At each stop, he will be meeting with political and religious leaders. From start to finish, the Pope will be away from the Vatican for about 62 hours.

The full details of the trip are posted below.

The trip, the first for the Argentine Pope, is expected to draw tremendous interest from Latin America, an area with 500 million Spanish speakers, most of whom are Catholic.

In the Pope’s native Argentina, where he was archbishop of Buenos Aires, his close friendship with Rabbi Abraham Skorka, who will also be coming to Israel for the Papal visit, made dialogue between religions and peoples a priority.

In preparation for the Papal visit and the large media contingent that will be coming to Israel, the Jerusalem Press Club has partnered with Fuente Latina, a media advocacy group that provides access to information about Israel and the Middle East in Spanish. As well as documentation about the visit, Fuente Latina will be providing journalists access to Spanish-speaking officials, experts on Christianity in Israel and helicopter and ground tours of the areas where the Pope will be visiting and the Christian holy sites.

In an interview with The Algemeiner earlier this month, Israel Defense Forces Captain Roni Kaplan, a Uruguayan-Israeli with Russian and Polish roots who directs the IDF’s Spokesman’s Spanish office, said, “There are 500 million Spanish speakers in the world, but, unfortunately, with so many other battle fronts, the IDF never has been able to focus on the people in this region, until the IDF Spokesman made a conscious decision for this to become a new front for us.”

Kaplan said the media coverage of the Papal visit will provide visiting journalists – and their readers and viewers at home – an opportunity to learn about more modern Israel as well as the holy Christian sites; his role will be to facilitate that in Spanish.

“Spanish-speaking people around the world don’t know that much about Israel, but they’re willing to listen and learn, but they want to hear it in Spanish, from a Spanish-speaking person,” Kaplan told The Algemeiner.

  • The 7 year Peace Pact will be signed by Oct 24, 2014.
That is why the POPE has invited The PLO and Israel
to the Vatican to Pray for Peace where they will soon
agree to a 7 year non-aggression pact which will be for only 3 1/2 years before the Turkey Moslems Bomb Tel Aviv and take over Jerusalem and cut off some Heads.

  • truth believer

those who are interested in end time events may like to go to utube and enter “Babylon the Great and the turkish anti-christ” It a 50 minute presentation supported with Biblical book, chapter and verse. Presents some very interesting points to ponder. But if one has come to believe the gospel “1 Corinthians 15:1/4″ and has been born again: 1 Corinthians 12:13; who gives a rip what the Israel government and the vatican do: For i know in whom i have believed and He is able to keep that which i (by faith) have committed to Him against that day, 2 Tim 1:12

  • This is eerie to all who study the word of God.

  • Well well another lying deception and another persuasive pressure on Israel Abama s Evil friend in deed

  • Kris Kristian

thIS POPE REMINDS ME OF THE FILM “the fisherman”
It was about an innocent priest who became Pope and was a freind to all, Kind and gracious.
He even went to a home where an old Jew died, and recited the Jewish payer for the dead, KADISH.I hope pope Frances will bring peace to the ME and to Israel. That is, if Obama and Kerry allows this
But will the Arabs/Muslimslisten to this good man’s please for?
The answer is NO> They do not want peace. They want to destroy Israel and every Jew. Then the Christians.

    • Ronald Littlejohn

Indeed…this may very well turn out to be the pope and time that the world has been anxiously awaiting…this pope may very well be the antichrist that may usher in the Biblical time called the Tribulation…let me explain my reasoning…
      1. This pope has/is coming into this period of time of great unrest world wide..including world wide disasters…unparalled economical unrest…world leaders of all the Major Nations including Israel have openly received him as the most important religious leader in a very very long time perhaps since Christ was crucified…most all eccuminical religious leaders have bowed down to him and paid him worship…his main number one goal is to unite ALL sects of modern relion into one world wide religion…in the disguise of “brotherly” love…as long as they are ALL in compliance with the ONE universial false relion…catholicism….

    • Ronald Littlejohn

      2. This pope is associated with the Biblical number that we all recognize and fear…666…let me explain…since the last pope was forced to resign under great coersion and disgrace which has not happened for 600 years…and since the current pope was(at the time he became pope) or is currently 76 years of age…given he had to have had a a childhood of 10 years before his catholic confirmation and thus preparation for eventually becoming pope…we arrive at the number…666…think about it…how suttle this makes sence…a lot of people are trying to make a persons name appear out of a number when in reality it is just a matter of simple mathmatics and the truth of reality of past events…

    • Ronald Littlejohn

      3. This pope is NOT a normal pope…as the past popes have been for quite sometime…perhaps even centuries….this pope is jesuit…a war pope…now tell me…why would a “war” pope suddenly come into popeship…without even being voted into popeship in the same manner as all previous popes have had to be voted into office??? Why would a war pope be presenting himself as a SHEEP “peace” pope to the world in his early time as pope…he has nothing to hide…we all know what a jesuit priest believes and stands for…WAR…Bible prophecy clearly says that before the world recognizes what a terrible mistake they have made in bowing down and worshipping the antichrist that he will portray himself as the saviour of the world…preaching peasce…love…and unity….but watch out…when he is truly revealed for what he is and stands for…war…destruction…death then it will be to late for repentance….

      • Ronald,
you are right on, for even as Satan disguises himself as an angel of light….another reason the Pope is not the good guy people think, the first Pope of the Romans who destroyed the temple was Italian, and the bible says of the antichrist, so shall he be of the same people. Meaning he woulod be Italian. So, if he is not the actual AC, he is his helper. He is also very pro Palastenian, and anti Israel, but will not act like that to Natanyhu’s face, but will say it’s all in the name of peace, and love….and there will be initially, a fake peace, n love…then all he** will begin, once he sits n the throne and declares himself to be God.

    • Ronald Littlejohn

      4. This pope was predicted to appear at the time that he hasby another pope that lived over 500 years ago…that pope rightly predicted the names of 112 future popes and what they would stand for….the amazing thing is that what this pope predicted has come true…100 percent true….the other amazing FACT that this pope predicted was that the 112 pope would be the last pope before the GREAT TRIBULATION occurd…that this 112 pope would be the antichrist…and that his name would be Francis….PLEASE…DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR THE TRUTH…GO SEARCH It OUT FOR YOURSELF…JUST PRAY FOR GOD TO GIVE YPU TRUE WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT AS I HAVE…IT IS ALL AVAILABLE PN THE INTERNET….

    • Ronald Littlejohn

      5. It is truly amazing that this pope is going to Israel when he is…May 24 2014…think about the current prophetic events that are occuring….the first event to consider is this…the four blood moons that are true “signs” of the last days before the beginning of the GREAT TRIBULATION…these blood moons and cpmplete solar eclipses are prophicised to occore in the Bible…isnt it interesting that when this four blood moons have occured they have happened on Jewish holidays and have brought tremendous turmoile and destruction to Israel but ultimately resulted in God blessing His nation of Israel…there is much much more to be said about these blood moons…I challenge you tp research and come to your own conclusions….the TRUTH is undeniable….

      • An interesting fact I became aware of this morning, 23 May, is that the German forces signed the peace treaty at the end of the 2nd World War on the 24th May. Very interesting, don’t know if it has a greater meaning.

    • Ronald Littlejohn

      6. Isnt it interestig…that this particuliar pope is going to Israel at this time….John Kerry has tried to resolve and reach a peace treaty between Israel and Palistianian but to no avail…just like ALL previous “man” efforts to resolve this matyer of peace they have all been unsuccessful….the reason tha man will never be able to resolve this matter is because it is truly a “spiritual” matter and because God Almighty has ordained the peace treaty to be the very last SIGNto mankind before GOD usheres in the GREAT TIME OF HIS JUDGEMENT UPON THIS WORLD…

    • Ronald Littlejohn

Jews should stop carping at this second Pope (after John XXIII) who is a humanitarian and genuinely friendly to Jews. There are not that many righteous gentiles around and we should be thankful that one sits in the Vatican.

  • Let’s see how many Jewish values and valuables will be given away to honor a pope…
Already, one is the choice of the term “Holy Father” used for him rather than ONLY G-OD.
King David’s Tomb might be another…
Another is defining as “rabbi” someone who was NOT properly ordained as a Rabbi by anyone who can do so, that is REAL RABBIS, but by others who are just conservative ministers, who don’t abide by Jewish Law, don’t believe in it, don’t teach it, but play with it at will…whose race Bibi has been running for years…

  • james ainoris

The last pope proclaimed we didnt kill god…this new pope seems nice but does the vatican recognize Israel as a Jewish state……in fact there has been talk from evil UN to give agocontrol of Jerusalem to Vatican/UN authorities….thankfully Saladin defeated richard the lion hearted and through them out stating the Jews belong in Jerusalem 500 yrs ago

    • Kris Kristian

Did the world take note of what the previous pope said?
he proclaimed that the Jews did not kill Jesus.
That lie that the Jews killed Jesus has been the main cause of Jew hatred thru the past 2000 years.
That Pope was right. It was not the Jews who killed Jesus. It was the Romans who crucified people. The Jews never crucified anyone. The Jews were too afraid to cross the paths of Rome. But the damage was done, and for 2000 years, the Jews have suffered because of this lie
It is time for the Christian world to ask the Jews for forgiveness.

      • you are wrong, the Jewish leaders at the time when Jesus was on the earth, cried out for the Romans to crucify the Lord. It was for the fulfilling of the scriptures that this was done. And for 2000 years the Jews eyes have been blinded for the gentiles to be saved that are predestine to be saved and called his Bride. The 144,000 Jews of the 12 tribes will be saved in one day, and then the end will come.

  • What a wonderful itinary. This trip will foster good will.
The second great Pope,is very welcome

    • Good will is not what this trip is really about. It is about fooling the Jewish people, for 3.5 years, and the P.A. still has plans to rid themselves of every Jew and every Christian. But, that won’t happen, for there is only one God, and he is true and his word never fails.

  • I hope he remembers to bring all the misappropriated Jewish property & artifacts hidden in the vatican. Either way, I bet Peres & BB kiss his thing.

Blaming the West has become the most pervasive method of teaching for many Middle East studies departments, which are becoming the heart of pop-culture academia.
