For the second year running, the Clinton family have planned an extended luxury East Hampton vacation, during the month of August, at a $19.9m Lily Pond Lane mansion the Algemeiner has learned.
A source with knowledge of the matter told the Algemeiner that the Clinton family will host a private birthday party for Bill, who is turning 66 on August 19th, at the house this year.
“The Clintons loved the house so much that they are taking it again,” said the source.
The landmark home, which was designed by John Custis Lawrence and built in 1920, is owned by real estate magnate Elie Hirschfeld, and has been listed for sale by Sotheby’s for two years, now with a price tag of $19.9m, a drop from its earlier listed price of $25m. A total renovation of the luxury home was completed in 2002.
According to the Sotherby’s listing, the 12,000 square foot mansion boasts 200 feet of ocean front, 8 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, a sun/game room, large living salon, library, formal dining room and gourmet kitchen. It also offers 5 fireplaces, and 20′ x 40′ heated gunite pool.
When he first put the home on the market, Hirschfeld, who is a Jewish philanthropist and triathlete said, “It maximizes ocean views from almost every room. The landscaping for the 1.2 terraced acres has been designed for protection against the natural elements and to maintain full privacy. Plus, there is also a beautiful private walkway to the beach. I have enjoyed this home for many years and it is time for someone else to enjoy the splendor of Lily Pond Lane.”
The Clintons’ Lily Pond Lane neighbors will include billionaire financier and Mitt Romney supporter Ronald Perelman, and Martha Stewart.
