Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly aspires to reach understandings with the Palestinians on the borders of Jewish West Bank settlements that Israel would annex under any peace agreement.
The daily Haaretz reported that Netanyahu laid out his plan at a meeting last Wednesday with Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s top diplomat. According to an Israeli official who was briefed on the meeting, the prime minister explained that by determining the borders of the settlement blocs it would be clear where in the West Bank Israel could continue building.
