“Honestly, nothing is off the table,” US President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday, when asked if military action was one of America’s potential response options to recent hostile Iranian behavior.
Trump’s comment came a day after his national security adviser, Michael Flynn, announced that the US government was “officially putting Iran on notice” following the ballistic missile test and other belligerent acts carried out last Sunday by the regime in Tehran.
Earlier on Thursday, Trump confronted the Islamic Republic on social media with a pair of tweets.
His first said: “Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE for firing a ballistic missile. Should have been thankful for the terrible deal the U.S. made with them!”

That was followed up with, “Iran was on its last legs and ready to collapse until the U.S. came along and gave it a life-line in the form of the Iran Deal: $150 billion.”

Also on Thursday, as reported by The Algemeiner, a top adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared the Islamic Republic would “vigorously continue with its missile activity.”
“This is not the first time that an inexperienced person has threatened Iran,” Ali Akbar Velayti was quoted as saying. “The American government will understand that threatening Iran is useless.”
