Dear Mr. President,

I do not believe you are a racist or an antisemite, but by your own doing, you have raised serious doubts about your value system. The purpose of my letter is to convey to you, what you need to hear, versus what you want to hear. I chose The Algemeiner to convey this message because we met at an Algemeiner gala, and I know the respect and admiration that you have for this publication and its high journalistic standards.

You lost your temper and misspoke at your impromptu press conference in the lobby of Trump Tower on Tuesday. You must stop this behavior. You are the moral leader of the free world, the president of the United States of America, the greatest country and symbol of hope and tolerance in the history of mankind. This is not a matter of “fake news,” this is not about partisan politics, this is about good versus evil. This is about the core value system of humanity.

Neo-Nazis and white supremacists are evil, and have no place in America or in the civilized world. You must speak out against this evil with the same clarity as when you spoke out against ISIS. You must condemn and take steps to contain these hate groups that seek to destroy America from within. This is domestic terrorism, and should be recognized especially by you for what it is.

A New Year’s Resolution for Stopping Anti-Israel News

The Ten Days of Repentance -- which culminate in Yom Kippur -- is a time for reflection and introspection. How...

The clock is ticking. If you do not act, this hatred will tear our country apart.

The late Elie Wiesel famously said, “It’s up to you now, that my past does not become your future.”

Mr. President, it is now up to you. Stand up against the evil that reared its ugly head in Charlottesville! It’s a matter of great surprise that you have not yet done so. Your comments so far have been a disappointment in the eyes of millions of Americans, including many of your own supporters. Your press conference has only been well received by the hate mongers. They believe you stand with them. David Duke, thanked you for your courage and honesty! David Duke!

Mr. President, simply stated you owe the American people and the civilized world an apology for your behavior and your comments. The time is now for you to unequivocally renounce bigotry, discrimination, David Duke, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hatred and violence in America.

It’s up to you.

Respectfully submitted,

Robert H. Book
